Over
the years Marine Systems has gained
a reputation for designing and producing
quality products. Standing as a
testament to our quality standards,
we have received: ISO 9001 Certification,
the AEGIS Excellence Award, and
Contractor Self Oversight status.
ISO 9001 Certification
ISO
9001, an international recognized
standard for Quality Management.
Its goal is to facilitate the international
exchange of goods and services.
ISO 9001 is a team effort affecting
all disciplines from design through
product servicing. The company's
initial certification was received
November 1997. International certification
was issued June 11, 1998.
ISO 14001 Certification
ISO
14001 is the International Standard
that specifies for all businesses
the required elements of an effective
Environmental Management System
(EMS) necessary for the protection
of employees, the community, and
the environment. We at NE&SS-Marine
Systems have included our safety
and health aspects and programs
in the EMS, making the ISO 14001
program a complete Environmental
Safety & Health (ESH) management
system.

AEGIS Excellence Award
On
May 12, 1999, Marine Systems was
presented with the Theater Surface
Combatants Award For Excellence.
The award recognizes our dedicated
workforce and highly motivated management
team for consistently meeting or
exceeding design, production, and
quality challenges as the prime
contractor for the MK 41 Vertical
Launching Systems Program.
Contractor Self Oversight Agreement
The
company achieved Contractor Self
Oversight (CSO) status in April
2000. The CSO program is part of
the Defense Department's Acquisition
Reform initiative to improve quality
while reducing government oversight
and cost. CSO designation allows
a measurable reduction of direct
in-plant government inspection,
thus eliminating redundancies and
reducing overall costs. The achievement
of CSO is the result of our outstanding
history with the MK 41 VLS program,
and the recognition of this performance
by our Customer.
