Lockheed Martin technologies
are transforming shipboard command
and control systems and user interfaces
into state of the art 21st Century
models.
COMBATSS™
COMBATSS (component based
command and control system) provides
necessary, timely, accurate, and
comprehensive knowledge to system
operators, thus enabling optimized
response to dynamic tactical environments
. COMBATSS presents an affordable,
COTS intensive, easily reconfigured,
Command and Control (C2) core architecture,
on a common framework. Its scaleable
architecture enables plug and play
and plug and fight of all ship components,
including sensors, weapons, displays,
navigation, communication, etc.,
directly into the core framework.
The total system includes both hardware
and software, which is easily reusable
and adaptable to benefit from future
technology upgrades. As new weapons
and sensors are installed, only
their COMBATSS adapters need
to be provided. These adapters link
the new weapon or sensor with COMBATSS.
The total ship system is unaffected
by the change, allowing for any
number of weapons/sensors to be
installed or updated over time without
expensive cascading software changes.
COMBATSS forms the backbone
that enables customization of ship
systems, equipment, and missions
by using platform- independent,
standards-based code.
COMBATSS is ideal for all
ship types and classes, such as:
fast patrol craft, corvettes, frigates
and destroyers as well as platforms
under development or in service
throughout the world.
