  Maritime Sensors

Sea SLICE had been replete with some of the most advanced imaging, detection, identification, tracking and targeting sensors available to the maritime community.

The Modular Sensor Platform (MSP-500)

The MSP-500 is one of several target detection and tracking systems compatible with the Millennium Gun.

Key components:

  • Thermal imager with two fields of view
  • CCD camera with zoom optics
  • Eyesafe laser range finder
  • Video track
  • Fire control console with joystick command response

Features:

  • Operates effectively during day/night and low-visibility conditions
  • Integrates with existing ship systems
  • Operates in the passive mode
  • Acquires data for navigation and fire control
  • Tracks target in azimuth, elevation and range
  • Accepts target indication from external sources such as radar
  • Modular design with designed-in adaptability

SeaFLIR™:

FLIR Systems' SeaFLIR™ provides long-range infrared capability in an extremely ruggedized and compact package.

  • The system features FLIR’s leadingedge 10:1x continuous zoom 3-5 µm lnSb focal plane array, enabling clear identification of contacts close-in or to the horizon 24/7.
  • With a total weight of 29 pounds and a diameter of just 9 inches, SeaFLIR's compact size reduces structural loading and improves platform stability.
  • Tested in real-world conditions in accordance with MILSTD 461 and 801E, SeaFLIR™ survives in Sea State 5 and 50G shocks. The system withstands maritime extremes with watertight seals, rugged components, special corrosion-proof coatings and an optional internal heating unit.
  • Continuous 360 degree rotation in azimuth and elevation.
  • SeaFLIR™ products are in use today with customers including the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.

Sea Star SAFIRE II™:

Shipborne Airborne Forward-looking InfraRed Equipment (SAFIRE)

  • Sea Star II™ delivers long range multi-sensor imaging via an advanced 3-5 mm lnSb focal plane array with 3 fields of view.
  • Modular design readily accommodates a complete range of optional sensor payloads including laser rangefinder, daylight TV, TV spotter scope, laser pointer and CALI laser illuminator.
  • Removed or installed in < 1 hour, as a roll-on-roll-off asset. Flexible installation orientations to meet widest range of mission and platform requirements.
  • Unique design translates into affordable upgrades with the flexibility to interface with radar, GPS and fire control.
  • Rugged and fully marinized with watertight seals, special corrosionproof coatings, internal turret heater, and optional anti-ice/de-ice.
