Moorestown, N.J., March 6, 2003  Carl P. Bannar has been appointed vice president, Program Operations, for Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems (NE&SS). In this capacity, he will develop, review, and implement program performance strategies, support sound business and program execution strategies for ongoing and new business pursuits, and establish and sustain effective practices to support optimum program performance. The NE&SS business includes operations in Moorestown, N.J., Manassas, Va., Baltimore, Md., Eagan, Minn., Akron, Ohio, and Syracuse, N.Y.

Bannar joined Lockheed Martin in July 1984 as a radar systems engineer and has held increasingly responsible positions, most recently as vice president, Technical Operations, at the Moorestown, N.J.-based NE&SS business. He will continue in this position until a replacement is named.

Bannar serves on the board of directors of the Philadelphia chapter of INROADS, an organization dedicated to supporting and growing minority college students with leadership training and summer intern programs. He is also on the Dean's Advisory Council for the Engineering program at Rowan University and Drexel University as well as the Lockheed Martin Corporate Executive for Drexel University. Bannar received a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Drexel University.
